Detoxification 〰️ The science of how your body gets rid of waste & toxins

Our bodies do this every day. But our bodies can become overburdened by our modern and industrialized world and way of life.

The Environment Working Group (EWG) found an average of 91 toxic chemicals in the blood and urine of adults. ⚠️ In another small study they found that newborns had an average of 200+chemicals in their umbilical cord blood 😩. We know that many of these toxins have a direct link to various issues and diseases but there is a lot we still don’t know and most chemicals haven’t been fully assessed for safety. Research and regulation changes take time.

Scary stuff right?! 🙅‍♀️ Fortunately, there are things that we can do to lower our toxic burden and improve our body’s ability to naturally detoxify.

I’m not a fan of long juice cleanses, fad detoxes & starvation. Your body needs specific nutrients and protein to detoxify properly! 🥦🍖🥑
